Protest Thread #106: Welcome, one and all! Okay but not the pedos.
I just finished yet another bridge protest with my fellow trolls on kind of a cloudy, cool day. That meant we were able to see the people in the cars well, with little glare on the windshields. Because traffic was really slow on the interstate, people had lots of time to react. I counted two thumbs down, one middle finger, and one idiot rolling coal on us in 2 hours of rush hour on the interstate!
You gotta really wonder what kind of person wants to give the middle finger to a banner that says "Guardians of Pedophiles" while everyone else in traffic is wildly honking and waving and people driving past and smiling and laughing.
Like, better check those guys' hard drives!
A couple of guys on motorcycles pulled up early on. The correlation continues with bikers smart enough to wear helmets liking us, and the dumb ones flipping us off. These guys were Latino and grinning at our banners.
A Muslim woman driving past wearing the hijab gave us a huge smile, and a young white guy came up to us after that. Immediately I could tell he was on our side from the friendly smile and the vibes in general (especially since the only people left to attack us are the real hard core Nazis). It turned out he is trans and just had to flee from Indiana to our blue state for safety. He doesn't know anyone here yet and said he was looking for his people. I said he was very welcome!
One of my fellow trolls was wearing a rainbow tutu and a trans flag around her shoulders while waving a Pride flag, and I told our newcomer that we certainly want to promote LGBT equality along with all the other groups. We introduced ourselves and told him about where to find our protests online.
He was just driving on the interstate and pulled over to join us, and it makes me glad in these horrible times that we provide hope and a warm welcome to some of the most targeted people.
Of course, everyone honking on the interstate (which was like 3/4 of the cars) also got a mood boost from seeing us.
Obviously everything is still a crap sandwich but it lifts my mood to know that we lift up other people.
