people still on substack are like "(fetches fainting couch) but mah clicks! my metrics!" You know what, fuck your clicks, fuck your metrics, and FUCK YOU. Grow a backbone, you absolute cowards. I do not, and will not, give any quarter to fundamental assaults on human dignity and civil rights.
@codinghorror I created a filter using the keyword "substack", which was working great for a while. Unfortunately, that seems to have been removed from a lot of them now. After getting fooled into opening a bunch of 'stealth' links where you can't tell until you scroll all the way to the bottom, I've now added a filter for "/p/" and that seems to be catching the rest (so far). Fuck shitstack! 🤬
@codinghorror 1940s FASCISTS: I was just following orders.
2020s FASCISTS: I was just following clicks.
read the truth, people. Fuck complicity. And most of all, fuck the so-called "leadership" at substack. I lose a little bit more respect for anyone still on that platform, month after month. Look. Take my advice and do as you please.
@codinghorror better than the progressives who tell me that it’s a free speech issue as if right wing fascists don’t have enough platforms. 🙄
@codinghorror Related: "Single-Issue Voters."
The moment one's vote is tied to a single issue, the rest of society can go pound sand about every other right and value you're willing to sacrifice for your issue.
And it's also that your single-interest incentivizes others to be as awful and exploitative as they can be, provided they convince you they will address your single issue.n You aren't just complicit, you're an accelerant.
As it is for racism, so it is for clicks.
@codinghorror it's exactly the same reasoning people give to stay on Twitter, long after... (vaguely motions towards the horizon) all of this happened.
