@jyn OMG thank you so much for tackling this one
IMO this will actually make it *more* likely for people to help stabilize features, because having an officially blessed opt-in for using unstable features on the stable toolchain will open up testing of unstable features to people who can't or won't use nightly.
@zwol the way i've talked about it to people is "we've tried making it super painful to use unstable features and it hasn't helped much; have we tried making them easier to stabilize instead?"
