@cwebber I'd add, also definitely don't do it the same week as Brooke Vibber Day?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Brooke_Vibber_Day
@cwebber So does this mean we completely stop using Wikipedia? Is this the death blow?
@cwebber Not sure what the best punishment for union-busting would be: corporate dissolution, or court-ordered recognition of the union combined with court enforcement if the union's contract terms if the company refuses to bargain in good faith.
@cwebber it seems like there's a trend of these organisations deciding that in order to be serious they need to put a sociopath in charge, cf. also Mozilla.
Where's the fricking email from Jimmy letting me know wtf they're doing?
Oh right, only when they wanted my money, got it.
Getting really tired of the continuous stream of enshittification 🤮
@cwebber I don't like the sound of this.
What, whut?
No idea what's going on, but... uh... fired for union organizing? If so, not good.
Context, for those confused (like me):
«If that name doesn’t mean anything to you, here is what it should mean. Vibber took over as lead developer of MediaWiki, the platform that runs Wikipedia, in early 2003. She was the first full-time employee the Wikimedia Foundation ever hired, and its first Chief Technical Officer. For more than twenty years she was the engineer you called when something deep in the code was broken.»
