My three dogs weigh a total of 285 lbs. They are always on a leash unless they're behind 6 ft. privacy fences
@researchfairy yes please! Not the same severity, but a big dog jumped on my back and nearly knocked me over on Monday when I was running. He was friendly and very sweet (a big Wolfy dude with heterochromia) but still, not OK.
The owner said, "thank goodness you like dogs". More like thankgoodness he didn't jump on one of the elderly people on the path, who may have broken something.
And plenty of people are terrified of dogs. They're worry isn't less valid that dogs lovers' enjoyment.
Guess who just got bitten by a little dog while I was out on a run

*They* were mad at *me* because I yelled after their dog bit me
Then they lied and said it was vaccinated
Then they lied and said they didn't have documentation
(After 2 min of looking, they came out again with the paperwork from the vet, and he's not vaccinated)
@researchfairy ayfkm. I think that's actually illegal, not that that correlates very strongly with morality. I think you could take the owner to small claims court over the cost of getting yourself any vaccines you now need to get. Wow, I'm furious for you.

They think they can get away with not training them at all because they are small. That could not be further from the truth.

FTR I am a big dog owner, and because I have big dogs, I have trained them extensively so that they don't even remotely think about doing anything like this. Ever.
Little dogs can be the devil when their owners are assholes.
