I was thinking of that long NBC news story about OpenEvidence, which doesn't really strike me as hard-hitting journalism, and I looked up the author.
He's been the full "AI Fellow" and then "AI Reporter" at NBC News for a total of 10 months. No journalism degree. No other journalism jobs.
25% "not being aware of PubMed" - I mention that to note that I am skeptical of that survey.
Re two thirds - it looks like OE has been making a PR push lately - I see several May news articles giving a 65% figure with the source given as OpenEvidence itself, including this very positive one that ought to have earned some PR person a big bonus 😊 https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/openevidence-ai-doctor-medical-physician-login-app-what-npi-uptodate-rcna341064
