Intrigued, but worried about references in the conversation to blockchain, I took a moment to dig a little and am relieved to find no reference to “blockchain” in their 50-page PDF of technical detail

I’ve found one called Loreco which seems to have some sort of relationship with Happonomy but I’m not sure in what way. It references Leuven and Happonomy in the About section of its README. Is it a fork?

It goes on to say:
“Various blockchain technologies were considered for the implementation of SuMSy, but ultimately rejected.
…
a blockchain simply becomes a very inefficient distributed database.”

…Thing is, digital tech is unmetabolisable on human timescales. So it cannot be sustainable in its current formation.
We’re gonna have to navigate that becoming more and more apparent.
But as we continue to exploit such tech on the path down the power ladder –while it lasts – the very least we can do is not layer in algorithms which are inefficient *by design*
