Thought for the day. If you're going to buy vanilla flavoured oat milk and not tell anyone then put it right next to the other milk, do not be surprised when you get vanilla flavoured scrambled tofu. 👍
On at least two occasions, I've accidentally had cayenne toast instead of cinnamon toast.
Putting ingredients into unlabelled bottles can literally add a bit of spice to 4am breakfasts.
I don't have to get up that early anymore, and have a label maker now.
🙂
@TheBreadmonkey Throw it away and don’t torture yourself with it 😂
@TheBreadmonkey I made my SIL some mocha flavored scrambled eggs once. He didn't care for them, can you believe it?
@TheBreadmonkey Been there, done that. Vanilla flavored pasta sauce is something special.
@TheBreadmonkey I once made raita with a little packaged cup of yogurt and my youngest child said mom this is the best raita ever and I tasted it and …I used vanilla yogurt. She likes it because it’s sweet. AND now I’ve wasted a vanilla yogurt and have an extra “plain!”
I am now going to have to eat all of it because no one else will touch it. How does one de-vanilla something? Just powering through something with vanilla, garlic powder, smoked paprika, nutritional yeast, smoked salt, mustard and turmeric in it. It's not right.
I keep a dog for these times . . . She's very over fed . . .
@TheBreadmonkey on a Scout overnight, relaying instructions on scrambled eggs. "Get the milk and put a splash of it into the eggs"
The boys grabbed the vanilla creamer and used that.
Been a decade and I've yet to think, "it couldn't be as bad as my memory says it was. Let's try again, for science"
@TheBreadmonkey
Add enough cayenne and you won't taste anything else.
@TheBreadmonkey
Add curry/turmeric?
I’ve made a similar error and turning it a bit curry helped.
New plan!
😬
@TheBreadmonkey I've done this so many times. Not scrambles specifically, but savory dishes that very much are not improved with vanilla. Maybe something like smoked paprika might invoke the feeling of warm spices such as nutmeg, only on the savory side.
@TheBreadmonkey What’s the opposite of vanilla? Kinky. You have to make it kinky.
@TheBreadmonkey Time to launch a new "disruptive" start-up! BenillaTofu!
