I have forgetten more about how US soft power works than most people will ever know, so I know it's not all gum drops and lollipops - but part of the reason we were doing food aid in areas of the world we're purposely destabilizing for American corporations, was to prevent the rise of a popular developing world anti-American movement. Now we're not doing that anymore, and Trump is actually already STARVING the poorest places on Earth; with more to countries to be added soon.

(For example, and you may have heard this, the price of rice has already doubled in Somalia. That's just going to keep cascading through the global economy; these are baked in effects from weeks ago - you haven't even seen how that's going to compound yet. All these "destabilized" (often by US, the corporations that control US foreign policy like it that way) regions are also poor, and the poorest regions will experience the shocks first. You figure those people might get, mad? Maybe?)
(Imagine like say, ISIS, except instead of organizing around a twisted interpretation of a religion and nationalism, you're organizing around "these people literally starved your babies to death" plus nationalism. Brey... you ain't ready.)
(I don't think you can literally starve the poorest half of the planet without some kinda blowback. That's just not a rational position to adopt. And realistically because we have all the nukes, that blow back is going to take the form of irregular warfare - whether you want to call it terrorism or not is your business, it doesn't really matter to me except in so much as we never call the terrorism we do terrorism. The point is, this gets ugly, globally, for the US.)
All of which is of course ignoring the crash when this actually does hit Pig Empire shores - food riots are a realistic possibility, and not as long down the line as you think. But when you have the stolen money, as Pig Empire imperialist nations do, you pay more in response to a shock. When you simply don't have the money (because we stole it from you)? Your state fails. And it's not exactly a big secret this is happening because of an American president's insane war against Iran.
