For some time the UK's energy market has managed to balance security of supply with under-investment by trading (via interconnecters), but now the UK's often quite volatile energy (electricity) needs has led to disquiet among continental suppliers as the UK's sudden demands have had knock-on effects for European domestic energy systems.
Until the end of the year, the UK will reduce its use of such energy trading & seek to increase use gas-powered generation to smooth supply.
