In a spirit of eagerness earlier in the week, I booked an 09:00 appointment at our local recycling centre, to help tidy up some of the garden.
I now regret this.

@neil you have to book appointments for the recycling centre in your area? Should that not, like, manage the number of people that show up to a reasonable level?

@tautology I was perhaps indulging in a small hyperbole. I waited about two minutes.
But I also booked for the opening time, and arrived bang on that time. 10 mins later, and I suspect that I would have not queued at all.
It would appear that every other person in Newbury had the same idea.
But, I am done.

Recycling centres are one of the last refuges of chivalry. When I have to go I wear bum-lift leggings and put some lip gloss on. As soon as I open the boot of my car to lift the dirty, heavy old bags of rubbish out, the nice men who work there rush over to help me. Most of them are old enouth to be my dad so I expect I remind them of their own daughter, and don't want me to break a nail or something.
So lovely.

@neil In a similar vein, earlier in the week I booked a 09:00 brunch with a friend this morning and subsequently decided to attend a seminar happening in the US at 05:00 local time, and remembered I had another appointment at 10:30. It was all *good*, but I am definitely very tired! 😴

@neil depending on how comfortable you're working in the heat 9am may have been the right choice. Loading and emptying a car in 28 degrees is not my idea of fun!
