Without giving details — it was a small symposium with works very much in progress — the presentations I saw at Universität Würzburg this week made me happy to be in computational literary studies. So much good work going on.

Work on genre — but also, increasingly, plot. Methods that range from close reading, to logistic regression, to LLMs. Scale combined with precise aesthetic description. After all, why not?
