Pearce's post is not any kind of substantial backing for Slot. It comes across as damage control, trying to keep the waters calm, and peace in the family until the final game is done. Just like a dysfunctional family doing their best trying not to explode until after Christmas.
I can't imagine Arne Slot doing a round of victory pumps with the Kop. I think we may see a few farewells and honours given to the outgoing players. I don't expect booing but I also don't expect a celebration.

Personally, I feel that the Sunday game will be played in an ambience of disappointment, disbelief, and disengagement. Hopefully not one of exasperation.
I can't have any ill thoughts for Arne Slot, this is not personal. The final stain of disappointment is that Sunday won't be what the outgoing champions deserved.
Rodgers had Steven Gerrard to mediate and keep the team together, but not even Stevie could patch something that was flawed by design.
