A good designer, researcher, or programmer is always going to be naive, and optimistic, because that is required for doing this kind of work. You can spot when they are crushed by the system, because they become fatalistic, and politically savvy. That's the death of curiosity, creativity, and hope that are necessary for this career. I feel like our society should try to protect them, instead of praying on them. It would benefit everyone.
