i would love to learn more about server administration, specifically linux servers. i have a grasp of the basics but would like to go from “it works and i don’t know why” to “it doesn’t work and i know how to fix it”.
does anyone have book recommendations? or maybe a course?
i’m specifically looking for something structured.
@moiety "Unix and Linux System Administration Handbook" by Nemeth et al. Friendly, practical, pretty great.
"The Practice of System and Network Administration" by Limoncelli, Hogan, Chalup. A lot grander in scale, not tied to a specific OS, but full of good practices.
@moiety I've had some enlighting 'aha' moments when doing a LPI Linux course even though I've been using Linux for many years. Mine was via Pluralsight a few years ago. Not sure if this is still the best place or best approach.
