@quinn What aspect of Google is worthless, specifically? Or is it everything now? (I get that they're burning search to the ground and trying to destroy the open web, but what else did you see?)
@cstross i was looking at search. I tried to use it to find things and it basically doesn't do that anymore, with the exception of image search, which seems ok for now? I hope they don't see this and turn image search into all ai slop.
@quinn I abandoned google for everything but email a few years ago (and I need to find a solid EU-based host for that some time soon). Also erased Chrome from all my devices after finding those 4Gb LLM turdlets it left all over the place (without asking).
@cstross as another unsolicited email provider recommendation, I can vouch for Migadu having great support, a great price, and rock-solid experience.
