I am a big fan of genuinely useful machine learning. I have never once wanted to “ask” my photos, app store, maps, or any other app anything besides basic web/knowledge stuff.
Stop shoehorning LLMs into random shit.

When all “AI” is based on the stochastic parrots and synthetic text extruding machines that are LLMs, of course the lazy option is to make a chat interface. That’s how the spicy autocorrect works best.
It is not how humans actually think for 90% of the tasks now being turned into chat interfaces.
@cassidy Agreed! This made me remember [Language Model Sketchbook, or Why I Hate Chatbots](https://maggieappleton.com/lm-sketchbook) by Maggie Appleton. I think that's from 2023, so ages ago in terms of LLMs, but I don't think I've seen many types of interfaces other than chat boxes in those 3 years.
