Aussie 4G IoT users: a client has switched from Telstra to Simbase and their data usage charges have plummeted. My working theory is that Telstra NAT shenanigans drives up the TCP overhead.

@Unixbigot same underlying carrier (Telstra)?
@jpm i’m told that yes old= m2mone/telstra new=simbase/telstra
@Unixbigot hmmmmmm… maybe one only counts downloads and the other counts both down- and up-loads?
@jpm @Unixbigot or some kind of 95% utilisation shenanigans?
@neoluddite @Unixbigot yeah my initial thought was air-time “good-put” reducing the packet loss and retransmissions required, but both on same carrier means this is unlikely.
