Kickstarter's apology for its hamfisted banning of more projects reflects a genuine problem of conservative fiscal censors:

I wish that there was a good solution to this, one which doesn't look like cryptocurrency.

@neil Why not cryptocurrencies, though? Not trying to be a cryptobro, but they seem like a right tool for such cases.

"Spicy" is really subjective when same-sex attraction is frequently treated as pornography, even when it's two people holding hands.
The same conservatives that are pressuring Visa/MC to not allow for porn payments also would like LGBTQ content to be censored.

@neil About the only way would look like financial regulation of card and payments processors. Want to do business in this country? You have to be willing to process any legal transactions.

@neil @JessTheUnstill I recall signing a petition to that effect a while back. The government's response was like, 'LOL, no. We would never interfere with a business to tell them what they can and can't do. Because DEMOCRACY!!' 🙄
@neil @JessTheUnstill o thought the fundamental problem is that the credit card companies are afraid of falling afoul of US “proceeds of crime” laws and washes down to everything that depends on them.
