I didn't manage to stay up until full astronomical darkness last night (which starts about midnight and is very short) but hey, there WERE auroras!
And a shit-ton of bright satellites. As always.
But the stars are still there, looking beautiful, behind the satellites. And the auroras are still there, looking beautiful, in front of the satellites.
@sundogplanets As a resident of the NWT who is displaced for at least half of the year by mass tourism seeking the Aurora Borealis, it is astounding that northern governments are not speaking out against all the junk in the sky.
@miki_lou No joke, I'm on a panel for the Canadian Senate about it tomorrow. I don't know if they'll actually do anything, but they are going to have to listen to me for a while, at least!
@sundogplanets Maybe use the term 'major project' since the Liberals and Cons are all over that notion? LOL
