Yay! I just learned that there's a Speech to Text feature in #HomeAssistant that avoids the need for #LLMs to provide #VoiceControl
And it works on very lightweight hardware, using older technology where you train the system to recognise certain phrases.
This makes it super cheap (£0!) and much easier to setup. Also predictable (it either does what you want or does nothing), and all downsides of an #LLM are avoided.
