Well that freaked me right out. I've had the same main laptop since 2017 and it's never spoken to me before. Just trying to open something and it said quite loudly "ONE SEC. WORKING ON THAT".
What is happening? Is my computer sentient? All this time. Oh my god. The things it has seen.
I think Firefox was open but I was trying to open the search function to open email so don't think it would have been that
@TheBreadmonkey Could be worse. The first time I used a Mac at uni, someone had replaced the default error sound with a thirty second clip named “orgasm” and turned the volume way up.

maybe you were playing some audio when you closed it, and it resumed outputting that buffer? or is this some cursed new AI thing?
I think it's whatever the Ai assistant is that Apple uses. I must have just activated it by mistake? Didn't even know it was there!
