The possibility of timing attacks in our system results from the structure of HTML, the language in which web pages are written.

The primary drawback of our present approach to defending against timing attacks is that it is not easily compatible with some web technologies. For example, web pages that contain executable scripts, e.g., written in JavaScript, can make it difficult for a jondo to identify in advance the URLs that a browser will automatically request as a result of interpreting those pages.
The savvy Crowds user can also fine-tune her jondo’s behavior by way of a configuration file that defines the behavior of her jondo.
