Even though Trump has pushed oil prices through the roof with his Iran war, Russian newspaper NG writes, "the oil and gas revenues of the Russian treasury are still below last year's level by 38.3%".
I believe, any Russian thinking that Putin can still win the war should ask themselves, "who will pay for it?"

"To the Russian treasury" also includes the possibility that revenues actually increased but we're skimmed off by oligarchs for themselves (also paying tribute to Putin: the successful parasite ensures that the host survives).
@RuthODay2 it is possible, but I doubt Putin would allow anyone to negatively impact his state economy when he is this much under pressure in Ukraine.
