The EU is working to eradicate poverty in all its forms - even the hidden ones.
Today, 1 in 5 Europeans are at risk of poverty or social exclusion. 1 in 4 is a child.
To address this, we’re proposing a package of measures:
✅ The first-ever EU Anti-Poverty Strategy
✅ Strengthening the European Child Guarantee
✅ Fighting housing exclusion
✅ Reinforcing the rights of persons with disabilities
Combating poverty and social exclusion is a moral and legal duty.

No, I know! We print money like there's no tomorrow and cause massive inflation, making everyone pay for it without noticing! No one notices that they lost money because the number on their account stays the same! Genius!
Wait, maybe we should just tax the rich and use their money, taking away their ability to invest in their companies, causing them to cut more corners and fire their employees, causing more people to become jobless and... poor 💀

The EU speaks of fighting poverty while the CDU, the German arm of the EPP currently dominating EU politics, pushes the harshest social rollback agenda in decades. It weakens freedom and security for ordinary citizens, drives poverty on an unprecedented scale, while Germany’s head of government attacks citizens instead of protecting them.
Posts like this from the EUC only add insult to injury.
@EUCommission it could be so easy if you'd just tax the rich and the billion dollar companies and fight tax evasion. So much money that ends up in the pockets of a few by fraud and the lack of proper taxes.
@EUCommission poverty is most effectively fought by eradicating wealth inequalities.
No one needs billionaires - they only need us, from where they take their wealth.
