Anyway, productive day of messing with this LoRa-GPS tracker design. Added some TVS diodes and fuses just to make damn sure that any issues cause the tracker to not fry the $10 LoRa module or the $15 GPS module. I think the last piece of the puzzle is the automatic power switch which will switch the battery off when the external UART/debug connector is plugged in.

And… I think that’s it? TPS2116 is interesting - 2 input power rails, 1 output, and the chip controls which input rail is connected to the output either by a voltage divider set-point, or directly toggling GPIOs
Now going through the dick-dragging exercise of putting LCSC part numbers against all the components on the PCB. The two tuning capacitors for the antenna are completely unavailable.
And the two connectors are also unavailable, but that’s ok’ish because I designed the PCB to make them optional if the board is broken in hand and stacked
@jpm it gives me such a thrill to design a board and have it appear as a complete physical artefact a week later. My love for data entry has me grabbing the soldering iron, though. Your mastery of masochistic tendencies has my respect.
@ozeng I am very seriously considering buying a desktop PNP machine, because my hands are usually too shaky for 0402 size components
