@janeadams @CiaraNi I’m old enough to remember when one needed a diagram like this, one drew it oneself.
Then the internet came along and for a brief moment was a fabulously useful resource where you could fine such info at a click or two.
I have lived long enough to see one now has to draw diagrams oneself again.
@baoigheallain @janeadams I'm getting nostalgic now for the way we used to give people directions to our homes before, say, a party. Hand-drawing a map, sketching in a few self-selected things we subjectively thought might serve as useful landmarks - that pub; this corner shop with the odd sign; the enormous pothole right on the corner.
@CiaraNi @janeadams Inter-railing we made friends on the channel ferry. They told us to look them up if we made it to Italy. The directions were ‘train to Casarsa, bus to Spilimbergo and ask for us.
We did, found them, and spent a great week with proper Italian home cooking.
