I've started rewatching #metropolis , the beginning in the factory with the choreography of the workers being part of the machine is amazing. Especially before and after the industrial accident.
Very human in the loop. Next year will be 100 years since that film release and at the moment, human rights seem quite far away in service to capitalism. Particularly because of my field.
So it still feels fresh as a film. Human creativity pushing against the limits of the medium at the time.
Early cinema is beautiful. The pioneers trying to show fantastic visions, through collaboration, constraints and creativity.
LLMs and diffusion engines destroy that ability in us.
