I do have a question though, couldn't they just rewrite Claude Code in Rust, instead of acquiring Bun? 🤔

I still don’t understand the acquisition beyond “we don’t want to have to deal with a community for this thing we decided to depend on.” But if they rewrote Claude Code in Rust, they’d get a LOT more. I’m sure it would still be vibe coded but I think it’s trivially true that a vibe coded back-and-forth-API-client-and-super-secret-regexes would be more robust then a vibe coded JS runtime 😂
@ianthetechie yeah even if your core business is typescript and python, with infinite tokens at your disposal isn't generating code for SDKs trivial? (at least that's the idea they've been selling)
