AUGH do I want to try to stay up until it's actually dark to try to see auroras, even though it's snowing off and on and mostly cloudy? The constant Saskatchewan astronomy dilemma...
Hahaha well... there is full-on snow, that's pretty much horizontal from the wind, which is of course, coming from the north. I guess that answers my question, because I'm not taking my camera out in that, even if there were holes in the clouds. Saskatchewan weather wins this round. (Saskatchewan weather wins most rounds).
I sympathize with your "astronomers' dilemma". And it's got me thinking...
Have they come out with AI telescopes yet? You'll just have to set it outdoors (any orientation), give it a prompt, and go to bed. In the morning, it will have produced stunning images resembling whatever it was you wanted to see! (Or perhaps some refrigerator ad, or a turtle video the bot thought you'd like better.)

@sundogplanets when my daughter was younger, she would look at the map of Canada on her wall and pronounce that it was Always Cold in Saskatchewan (even in summer). Guess she was closer to the mark than I thought.
