Who searches for "landfill/garbage dump bird watching itinerary" to go with the $16,700 Antarctic cruise? 馃

@ai6yr I loved birding at the Ushuaia dump. Birding at dumps and sewage lagoons is often productive. No photogenic nor a pleasant sensory experience, but great birds.
@NunavutBirder @ai6yr
Fun fact: hantavirus has never been detected in that entire province.
@ai6yr not me, I'm just down at the crab dock on my lunch break because fuckin Blair got a widgeon in the park yesterday and pulled ahead of me in the county eBird rankings
goddamn
@Dougfir @sarae @ai6yr Reminds me of the movie The Big Year. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1053810/
@joycebell @Dougfir @sarae @ai6yr I have a signed movie poster from The Big Year. Won it in a writing contest for a now defunct magazine. The book is great btw
@NunavutBirder @Dougfir @sarae @ai6yr Cool, didn鈥檛 know it was based on a book鈥攚ill put on my to read list. Btw: what did you write for the writing contest?
@joycebell @Dougfir @sarae @ai6yr It was just a short sentence that had to include a bird that had the name of one of the stars. I used all three, Wilson, Black, and Martin.
But they also ran a contest, First Friday, through their blog, which was a 500 word short story about birds. Ran the first Friday each month. I won it four times.
@NunavutBirder @Dougfir @sarae @ai6yr Nice! Hey wait鈥擨鈥檓 just realizing you are the same Clare that writes poetry (and builds things)!
@joycebell @Dougfir @sarae @ai6yr C鈥檈st lui. That鈥檚 him.
