My entire platform for president is to make it a felony to put a USB-C connector on a device that can only charge from a USB-A power supply.

My BTech radios. C jack on the radio, plugged into my new 65w charger no chargie. tldr usb A fixed it, sfter sn6 inkling memory... MOST ANNOYING.
@tomjennings Worse - newer Betch radios fix it. So some of my (identical looking) batteries can charge with a usb-c, others can’t.
@mattblaze how would you even make it so a device cares about the source plug?
I would like to support your candidacy, but first I need to know your position on companies that build chargers with USB-A receptacles that just output straight 12V DC. And for extra fun, the charging cable's other end is a 3.5 mm audio jack.
@DaveMWilburn If that's not already a felony, it should be
It's basically just arson with extra steps.

😮💨
@mattblaze oooh! oooh! I know what precise thing they left out causes that issue!
@mattblaze chuck it all and start over with usb D
Matt Blaze for Prez!
@mattblaze oh heh I have a bike light with that confusing property, too. In fact I'd go as far as to ban USB-C power delivery entirely as the specification is so hideously overcomplicated that it's trivial for implementations to have even subtler/stupider interoperability issues 😡
@mattblaze
And in your second term please fix the USB version numbers. 😉
@oneiros that’s a matter for the courts.
@mattblaze @oneiros
Zelazny's "Courts of Chaos," most likely.
@mattblaze You have my vote.
@mattblaze Just in the last three months, I've acquired four such devices. It's just rude.
