@andrewnez Vendy was a similar idea in python, didn't go very far

@andrewnez just python- I was mostly looking at the word vendorizing and the general idea of formalizing it. On a tangent I was thinking about using pypi for everything. Maybe that'll be my next mini side project.
A long while back I worked a bit on a joke package manager that vendorized stackoverflow question & answers.
@mistersql see webjars and the old style rails assets gems, which basically do that
