#OtD 13 May 1985 Philadelphia police attacked the home of Black liberation and environmental group MOVE, then dropped a bomb on it, killing 5 adults and 6 children, destroying 61 homes in the predominantly Black neighbourhood, and making 250 people homeless.

@workingclasshistory There is a documentary on this that is, in my opinion, one of the greatest and most extraordinary documentaries ever made. I put it up there with classics like Battle of Algiers and Hearts and Minds. It's called “Let the Fire Burn" by Jason Osder, who as far as I can tell, didn't go on to do any other films. It's put together out of contemporaneous footage and news reports and it's absolutely a work of genius. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.
