Remember the Carbon Tax of "axe the tax" fame?

That was a Conservative idea

It was the compromise proposed by the Conservatives in response to looming industrial emissions regulations

"Don't regulate it, tax it and let the market decide"

Then the Liberals were like "okay sure"

And then when the Tories got what they asked for, they moved the goalposts and we got "axe the tax" as their policy proposal

You can't compromise with conservatives
