MSc student Dan Moskovitz has been named a finalist in the 2026 Science Journalism Awards (Emerging category). Dan's been recognised for his engaging Salient piece exploring conservation values and the complex role parasites play in ecosystems, including their relationship with iconic species like kākāpō. Selected as one of just five finalists nationwide, Dan’s work stands out for tackling thought‑provoking questions around how we value different species and reflects his wider writing on conservation and biosecurity topics.
