Oh COME ON. It's YOUR THING and you can't even get this right.

@andypiper if you get a moment, try and create a VM in boxes and let me know if it has network access.
I have a open issue because my VMs can't see the outside world on my fresh install
@ben any OS option preferred? Will try that now. Apparently Boxes itself was already installed.
@andypiper Ubuntu 24.04 is what I used.
I imported an existing disk image, but a fresh install also failed looking up the mirrors, so if it get's past that point then that should be enough and you can abort and delete
Thanks
@ben created a new VM to install 26.04 and it seems to be doing its thing just fine. It wasn't that issue where Canonical was DDoS'ed the other week was it?
@andypiper I have a different result... curious about what makes show such different results (appart from the inherent LLM's nondetermnism)
meanwhile, I'll get Vivaldi, shall I...
@andypiper
And probably best to switch away from Google Search too if you ask me. Might I recommend Startpage if you value Google indexing, otherwise DuckDuckGo is a proven contender. DDG also has their own AI built into the search engine, as an optional feature you can disable, like it always should’ve been. And theirs seem to actually function unlike Gemini.
And I’ll vouch for Brave while I’m still here, it’s problematic in some ways but it is still a good baseline. And open source too.
