Trump’s National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett tries to spin the rising unemployment by claiming fewer people getting a new job after being laid off is not a problem, because there are fewer immigrants in the country who need a job.

The facts are, in 2023 the unemployment rate was at 3.5 percent, and in January this year it hit 4.5 percent. The fact that people cannot get a job even AFTER thousands of immigrants have been deported shows, companies are struggling in the Trump economy.
