Gitlab about to go to shit
Post
@pikesley UK based codeberg coop when?
@andypiper @otfrom @pikesley because let's all choose one centralised platform worked so well for us with Soiurceforge, no sorry I meant Google Code, no wait, Github, or erm Gitlab or...
I've been holding off just spinning up Forgejo as I wanted to try another (that I can't dig out now) that's a bit more composable-parts, in case that works better for the "not just code" bit I talk about in https://mcqn.com/posts/code,-sharing-and-single-points-of-failure/
But yes, in favour of something commons, federated and UK
@andypiper @otfrom I am on codeberg and enjoying it tbh
@pikesley @andypiper I'm already on codeberg too. My understanding is that they don't believe there should be one big alternative.
"It's important to us not to miss out on this race-to-the-bottom"
"We're planning to flatten the organization, removing up to three layers of management in some functions so leaders are closer to the work"
Their MBAs spent the weekend prompting fucking Claude Code didn't they?
@pikesley they asked claude to prompt itself.
@tante @pikesley Retrained on the Cloudflare post from last week…
> I want to be direct: I want to do this once, and do it right, and not revisit our structure anytime in the foreseeable future. The team that comes through this restructure is the team that builds Act 2, and you should be able to plan your life and your work without bracing for what comes next. Let’s talk about what’s changing and how we get it right.
