Throwback to March of 2020 when I was riding home on a bus from work in San Francisco and snapped a quick photo because I saw that they let the SS Coronavirus dock in Oakland and I was terrified, so it's a really good thing we learned our lesson six years ago and definitely won’t let that happen all over again.
Post
I live in one of the few countries that took Covid seriously right from the beginning and completely wiped out the virus within two months.
My country now has a new government that proclaims loudly that they won't do what the last lot did. Currently they're sleepwalking to a diesel catastrophe and trying to make hantavirus somebody else's problem (after at least one of our citizens is in quarantine overseas).
@Alice my parents were going to get on that ship in San Francisco
@NickGates Wait. Like. AFTER the SS Coronavirus docker. Or before?
@Alice they booked their tickets well before it became The Corona Ship, but it took awjile for them to actually cancel their plans
@NickGates Oh wow.
You sure you want to cancel? We have a couple of rolls of 1-ply toilet paper to wipe shit up and you'll pay $10K in addition to your reservation fees for cancelling.
For what it's worth, this was the day my company told us to go work from home for a week or so while this whole thing blows over so uhhhhh yeah. Still remote, at least?
@Alice I think the lesson we learned from that is to just let Jose Andreas handle everything.
