I still don't understand how Windows laptop users still haven't unionized against the entire industry of manufacturers for the fact that they're still shipping absolute dogshit trackpads in 2026 (including on super expensive high-end laptops), even though Apple solved trackpads more than 15 years ago

@nileane years of muscle memory using a crappy Windows trackpad result in me being unable to do a simple drag and drop on a Mac (I've tried a few times, almost always results in every window moving outside the screen). It's a powerful way of locking in people
@nileane To be fair. Apple did not solved mouse.
PC solved it 25 years ago.

Can they? Because it seems like there's still a market for atrocious folding mice, that Verge writers would say "still beat using a trackpad" (I'm assuming they're not thinking about Macs) https://www.theverge.com/tech/927695/logitech-folding-mouse-leaked-images
I don't get why there aren't USB trackpads of Macbook quality, or better. Seems like something the mechanical keyboard market would give a go.
@nileane if they can put up with Windows, they can put up with crappy trackpads
