What would you do if Microsoft HQ blew up and the CEO and a bunch of VPs died somehow during an on-site there?
Post
Would you grieve them the same way you grieve Saddam Hussein or Hilter? Putin?
When does our latent nationalism become an excuse for state endorsed violence?
@jalcine I'm a bit confused by this use of the word "grieve", but in any case I think it's good to do this kind of thought experiment about how we'd react to various kinds of tragedies. You could add the TPUSA guy or the United Healthcare guy to the list, or Sam Altman getting Molotovs thrown at his house; I think people's reactions to those were also informative, and they certainly led me to do some introspection. But I feel like it's even more important to compare how we think about the bombing of a school full of children, or about a mass shooting⦠Anyway, it's all worth thinking about
@jamey lol this response is why I chose the word "grieve", it's in the space of a "worthy victim" or a "unfortunate adversary". I think about this in tangent to reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Day%2C_Everyone_Will_Have_Always_Been_Against_This (what would have this been like for the folks killed or taken by ICE under Microsoft's watch? what would have been like to read about this from those impacted by IBM's Nazi support?)
