My 18 year old son complains regularly about the attitudes of his cohort but I was hoping that was more along the lines of "I know it's bad, but at least it's better than it used to be" rather than straight up "you're right, and it's getting worse"
my kids are GenZ and I think their generation as a whole is actually very much better (at least compared to being in my 20s in the 80s)
The way I read what's happening is that there is *always* a contingent of the population that follows the leader -- so when you have corruption rampant, they become more corrupt; when you have male supremacy and patriarchy visibly in power, they feel free to super shitty to women
however
that runs hard into reality real fast
