I had a call this morning with Peggy Flanagan’s campaign, following up on the event for her here in New Mexico yesterday. 2/
I was impressed with Flanagan in person. We talked about the imperative to reform the U.S. Supreme Court. She was plugged in. She brought up _Callais_, realizing it is a major inflection point, putting the need for major reform beyond all question. 4/
I feel like the term “the need for major reform” is doing a lot of heavy lifting and eliding a lot of difficult, uncomfortable, and generation-defining things

In the group q and a, Flanagan was energetic, eloquent, funny, and compelling. I went into my call this morning wanting to support her further here on Mastodon but only if the campaign sets up an account here. 3/
The Flanagan staffer was terrific. She’s on the finance side but is going to speak to the digital side. So a chunk of the THE DAY was devoted to rounding up some explainers about the Fediverse and Mastodon for Flanagan’s digital team. 4/
