I need #fedihelp.
For a long time I've been registering domain names using Porkbun and I like them (local Oregon company too!), but the nameservers they provide are hosted by Cloudflare. Porkbun's just a frontend.
I think Cloudflare is a vomitous enterprise and CEO Matthew Prince can go eat a bag of dicks, so I'd like to migrate to another service for setting up DNS.
Any recommendations? Preferably a company with actual ethical values and decently profitable with a slow-growth mindset??
@jaredwhite once upon a time I would have suggested Pair.com — these days, I’m not so confident about them.
@jaredwhite Also interested, I feel really icky using cloudflare but it's the only way right now I can keep all the crawlers from costing a ton.

@jaredwhite Fastmail's DNS control panel's easy to use & without cruft. And it comes with EMail & Calendaring as well as an extra bonus.
@erosion Wow, interesting! I already use Fastmail! …but I have a lot more domains/sites than I have emails for those sites. Is there a limit to the number of domains one can manage?
@jaredwhite I know my Professional plan allows up to 100 domains, but I've always found them to be flexible if you talk to the higher-ups in support. For example years ago I needed 10GB extra in my file storage when I was already on the highest quaot & they were happy to sell me more & then when they had a bug after they did away with the account pool for funding service renewals because of it they fixed it within a few weeks just for me.
