@randahl I would consider eating food during the video, wouldn’t that be pretty conclusive?
@randahl You should invite your mother to reply that comments.
@ Randahl Fink Wow.
Not sure if it's because anything you do or don't do, I think it's a sign o'the times. AI is here, and there's an incredible amount of AI generated slop out there. It's only logical that people hate it and think they see it everywhere.
But it boils down to you having to prove you're real, while most AI crap is trying the exact same thing, and with increasing success.
You have quite an extraordinary hairdo, and it's clear that you make an effort to look your best, maybe people find the picture too perfect to be real?
The way you speak is very clear and consistent, excellent for the job you do, makes it very easy to follow. Maybe people expect a slightly more hasted way of speaking, maybe with a clear accent or some grammatical errors here and there 🤷
Not meant as an advice, but I wouldn't change me so that other people believe it's me. I would probably add a short notice like "this video is free of AI", and if people don't believe that, well, so be it 🤷
@hans great input. Thanks.
@randahl
I think you scraped the bottom of the gene pool on that one 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤷♂️
@ChrisHolladay ooh, if you saw what I have seen.
@randahl we got it bad here
@randahl also consider the possibility that some of these types of comments may be written to discredit the speaker and sow doubt among casual viewers. E.g. not written by someone who thinks you’re an AI, but written by someone who wants to make others think you might be an AI and thus whatever you say can be disregarded as mis-/disinformation or propaganda.
As for how to remedy this… lots of good suggestions given already, and as this is somewhat subjective i can only tell you what would work for me:
1) outdoor footage. natural lighting helps, especially things like moving shadows from the branches and leaves of a tree on a sunny day.
2) handheld camera with no motion smoothing, again ideally in natural light.
3) physical appeance; for example wear clothes that look like they’ve been worn the whole day, or otherwise have a slightly untidy look.
4) if you stammer, cough or sneeze, don’t edit it out.
Stuff like this could help give a more ”human” vibe.
@unkx awesome input. Thanks.
@randahl
because you have a nice voice. it is true that it seems AI. 😂
@randahl Your production quality is top notch which some AI-haters have problems believing humans can do.
You'll just have to start the next video climbing out of bed, bad hairdo, putting on coffee and mutter something unintelligible like the rest of us before shaping up :D
@randahl Interesting one should address comments to an AI generated character. 😂
@randahl Won't referring to your older videos (from before generating video was so easy) not be enough?
@erwinrossen I referred to a live video where I am speaking in front of an audience in Vienna.
@randahl If even that doesn't convince them, then what would? 🤷♂️
@randahl Check a box. 😁
@randahl It's funny, the wave of people who talk to their chatgpt as mates and their opposites who see every thing as AI-generated will never meet. The ultimate truth is that this is well-presented and researched.. Even if it was generated by AI, it would be as valid as if it was created by a high school student.
Perfect presentation and editing. I do not find the accent to be strong, but quite light.
Regardless of it all, the call to action at the end is lucid: vote. Democracy depends on it.
@randahl
I think there is no way to convince those people.
Any attempt to prove you are not AI will probably be interpreted as proof of you being AI.
It reminds me of the wise words of the great philosopher yogi bear
“The deeper you go into the woods, the more nuts you will find.”
@randahl Erm, is that comment maybe referring to that automated AI translation voice over by Youtube? Maybe these persons don't know how to turn it off.
@marcr there should not be any auto-translation on my videos, since I have turned that off for the channel. She commented on this video, where I am not seeing any auto-translation options — do you?
@randahl Oh, didn't know you can turn that off as the channel owner.
No, I don't see any auto translation options for the audio either, only for the subtitles.
In that case I would maybe ask back if they could prove that their comment wasn't created by an AI...
@randahl This calls for a Bugs Bunny polemic
@randahl I would say you can't, and there's no point in trying. It would be a pointless distraction.
The poor writing in your example suggests someone who's not well educated, or at least not challenged in their education to make more effort. It's lazy, and suggests lazy thinking. You can't do much for lazy thinkers. They have to participate in the effort, and they're clearly unwilling or unable to.
@randahl lean into it, claim to not be AI but a lizard man in a human suit.
@randahl just show that you don't have six fingers :)
@randahl make up some new words (preferably obscene) on the show, like "Putin is a cuntwaffle"
@randahl
You can tell them that with the greatest respect, they can fuck off.
That should do it.
You know you can never convince someone of the truth if they really want the lie to be true.
Emotions have been around longer and intelligence is on top of it, so emotions rule. Always has.
@randahl
Maybe have some sections where you aren't using a green screen? You did a video out in nature once, maybe more of that? Doesn't have to be nature, could be your office, garden, patio...
I'm not saying make entire videos like that, use the green screen when you need to show some graphics or a video clip, but then cut back to nature/office when it's just you talking.
But that's just me guessing that the green screen is what triggers people AI spider senses. It could be your Danish accent as well, or sounding too rehearsed.
But I'm just guessing, I might be completely off.
(Joking: Or just drop all professionalism and to an unscripted video from the bathroom 🤣).
@randahl I settled with "just don't read comments on YouTube" 10 years ago.
@randahl As you talk, nonchalantly hold your microphone so everyone can see that your hand has a 6th finger. And then halfway through your vid, bite off this 6th finger and spit it into a jar that's full of other fingers.
Maybe too much?
@randahl Could it be the Danish accented English they think is artificial? Try adopting the terrible English that former Norwegian prime minister and NATO general secretary, Jens Stoltenberg, is infamous for here. Tou can probably find some examples online - no one will believe that is made by AI… 😆
@randahl I’d put a disclaimer on the screen at the beginning that states that AI was not used, like the way disclaimers sometimes state that no animals were hurt filming something.
Some people might not believe it, but at least those that are wondering will know.
Off the top of my head...
Do an extra episode reading all the troll comments? If you have a dog or other alternate-species friend, film their responses. Or if you have any non-alternate-species friends willing to appear on camera.
As a possible evidence point, if you were AI-generated you would probably appear on the YT front page eventually, but you don't...
I am starting to wonder whether part of the reason you don't get recommended to me by YT is that I have blocked so many politics-adjacent channels. Initially this was because they were fascist trash, so that seemed less likely, but then I had to block a few nominally pro-democrat channels who were too exaggerated, repetitive, and clickbaity to be worth considering.
...
In the last couple of weeks there has been a plague of very wise looking older presenters with the same grade of greying hair and exactly the same thumbnail colours, typography and often basic images, all serenely explaining why Trump is dead in the water.
If they had less normal haircuts they might be believably real, almost.
Anyway, blocking them might not be helping either.
@electropict you should be able to force me into your feed by subscribing and then using the 🔔 icon to ask for ALL notifications. If you do not use the bell, YouTube might react to your blocking of political channels in general.
I'm sure. And I imagine that ... unless somehow you're only visible to subscribers ... just watching one of your videos on the same browser instance/same cookie set would produce results.
However, subscribing does rather mean giving some level of identifiable information to Google. 💀
Change your haircut.
Try to adopt a different accent.
@randahl maybe some "cut scenes" during the intro. You appearing outdoors...
Other than that. Just ignore the comments. You know you're not an AI, that's enough.
There'll always be people who don't believe and don't want to believe whatever you say or do. Moonlanding. Flat earth. Impossible to prove a negative. It could be baiting too.
The only thing that I can imagine, is if you do a 'live' broadcast with 'world time' somewhere in the shot, or maybe something like BBC World news live on a computer in the background.
@randahl Point out your grammar and pronunciation errors, as well as your telltale Danish accent, which are all not readily attributable to text-to-speech or auto-generated content.
(I realize this may sound like I'm telling you that you need to work on your English, but what I mean is that it takes rather extreme training or talent to sound like a native English or American speaker. Curiously, a common "mistake" is to obey language rules that are generally broken by native speakers.)
