Oh well... #Santander started charging a monthly account fee on my "free business banking for life" bank account, so I'm switching to another bank. #Revolut looked interesting, offered 拢100 credit for opening a business account for them. They fell at the first hurdle - in order to open an account with them you need to install an #Android app which refuses to run on a #rooted phone. Time to find a different bank then.

@steve that said, does anyone know of a UK bank with a functional website for banking? That works on mobile?
@toychicken @steve HSBC works fine. As boring as a bank should be.
@toychicken Santander, Virgin Money and Barclays seem to have functional websites. I don't usually bank from a mobile device though. That said, Virgin are now part of Nationwide, who screwed me over 18 years ago, so...
@toychicken @steve halifax. but please don't jinx it as i've been a happy customer for 40 years.
@steve could always try First Direct. Don't know about the online/app offering, but telephone service is apparently outstanding.
I'd be interested to find out if you come across a UK bank that runs on a rooted Android device or even just works with a plain old web interface.
@justine I don't use any (nor want to use any) banking apps on my phone. I'll stick to the web sites unless they force me onto an app, and if the app won't run on a rooted phone I'll find a new bank (TBH, forcing me to use an app at all would probably make me seriously think about switching).
