Setting up age verification for my BBS
It's simple: if you know what a BBS is and manage to connect to it, you're clearly over 18.

@foone I am happy to report that our twins (a decade away from 18, in the younger direction) know what a BBS is, and can use telnet or ssh to connect to one.
They know, because I told them about BBSes, and they found the idea intriguing, and more enjoyable than the modern, slow, ad-filled web. They like the small-scale, community-oriented nature of the BBS era far more than the slop-filled modern internet.
They spent enough time on Youtube, saw my wife's Facebook enough times to know they want nothing to do with that stuff. They hate algorithmic timelines, ads, clickbait and ai slop. Anything that isn't that is great in their book, whether modern or old.
