The reason I'm invested in empowering people at the protocol level is bc it'll take one Big Tech infinite money spigot to spin up another protocol to make all the other protocols irrelevant. If we can Bridgy and Bounce things, we can change the power dynamics of that sitatuation.

Wanting a protocol to dominate is unproductive when you realize how easy it is for larger entities to destroy any momentum you've gained. Plan for the worst case scenario, because they already have.
If you haven't noticed yet, there *are* large pockets betting on other protocols and letting the money flow free, and it's not the ones you're betting on
