/me looked at OpenVi and failed to get it to build from source; which is a bad sign since "OpenVi: Portable OpenBSD vi for UNIX systems" the portable doesn't seem to mean what I think it means?
/me notes: nvi2 was trivial to build from source.
/me notes: OpenVi mentions homebrew [yuck] not MacPorts [screams out of touch with other BSDs' insider knowledge].
/me notes: itojun [RIP] also contributed to nvi2!
/me wonders: why doesn't OpenBSD, internalize nvi2? ;( Seems as if it would be a better move.
No doubt, I could presumably get OpenVi to build from source, given additional effort. I just, am sincerely questioning whether that effort is worth it, and whether it's worth sharing more widely via MacPorts. It doesn't give me those feels; quite the opposite.
